SBC/Boards:

  • Metro = 20W is typical consumption and 40W is maximum.
  • WP188 = 5W typical.
  • ALIX = 5W typical

Radios:

  • XR5 = 6W per radio,
  • WLM54AG/CM9 = 1.8W
  • WLM54AGP23 = 2.5W

PSU 48V/0.35A sold by Valemount on METRO

They are rated for 4 low-power radios, no more than that, and since Metro's are not sold together with PSU's (I think at least Valemount never sold them like that), you must be using PSU's meant for WP188's.

Case Scenarios:

  • Typical consumption for METRO:
    • 4 x XR5: 20W+(4 x 6.0W) = 44W
    • 2 x XR5 + 2 x CM9: 20W+(2 x 6W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 35.6W
    • 4 x WLMSAG: 20W+(4 x 2.5W) = 30W
    • 2 x WLMSAG + 2x CM9: 20W+(2 x 2.5W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 28.6W
    • 4 x CM9: 20W+(4 x 1.8W) = 27W
  • Max consumption for METRO:
    • 4 x XR5: 40W+(4 x 6.0W) = 64W
    • 2 x XR5 + 2 x CM9: 40W+(2 x 6W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 55.6W
    • 4 x WLMSAG: 40W+(4 x 2.5W) = 50W
    • 2 x WLMSAG + 2x CM9: 40W+(2 x 2.5W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 48.6W
    • 4 x CM9: 40W+(4 x 1.8W) = 47W

  • Max consumption for WP188:
    • 2 x XR5 + 2 x CM9: 5W+(2 x 6W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 20.6W
    • 2 x WLMSAG + 2x CM9: 5W+(2 x 2.5W) + (2 x 1.8W) = 13.6W
    • 4 x High power WLM: 5W+(4 x 2.5W) = 15W
    • 4 x Low power CM9: 5W+(4 x 1.8W) = 12.2W
  • Max consumption forALIX:
    • 2 x CM9: 5W+(2 x 1.8W) = 8.6W
    • 2 x WLMSAG: 5W+(2 x 2.5W) = 10W
    • 2 x XR5: 5W+(2 x 6W) = 17W

Startup Load

Be aware that Startup Load on any SBC needs more power that stated in power consuption since all radio cards draw power at the same time allong with SBC itself, lowering Voltage if PSU is not able to provide needed Watts.
